Biotechnology-Genetic engineering. Experimental and Applied Human Physiology. Nutritional/Pharmaceutical agents, mode of action. Pathophysiology. Special issues in Pathology. Pharmacology, Toxicology, Minerals-Vitamins and nutrition.

Laboratory of Nutrition and Clinical Dietetics
Director: Labros Sidossis, ProfessorThe Laboratory of Nutrition and Clinical Dietetics (LNCD) is part of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Harokopio University of Athens, Greece. The Laboratory is set in a newly built area and includes the Units of Clinical Biochemistry, Body Composition, Dietary Assessment, the Metabolic, and the Sports Nutrition and Exercise Physiology Unit. All Units are operating with top of the line diagnostic and medical equipment, covering a wide range of physiological and biochemical tests. The Laboratory’s activities are supported by highly qualified scientists in the field of nutrition and health (dieticians and nutritionists, medical doctors, exercise physiologists and epidemiologists).
Main objectives:
Educational
Coordinating and supporting all nutrition-related courses of (both in theoretical and laboratory basis) the undergraduate and graduate studies programs of the Department.
Research
Supporting the research interests of the Laboratory’s Scientific Staff. The main areas of interest are human metabolism and metabolic disorders, childhood obesity, physical activity and health, nutritional epidemiology, nutrition education and health promotion, sports nutrition, nutrition anthropology, Mediterranean Diet, and psychosocial aspects of eating.
Public Policy Services
Consulting Governmental and non-Governmental agencies on issues related to the organization and implementation of nutrition policies. Providing scientific support to the Food Industry and nutritional and health promotional services to the community.
